It is a financial company that develops software for corporations, small businesses, accountants, and individuals.

Role

Intuit hired me as an experienced lead designer to join the Quickbooks creative team and develop a new online app for Quickbooks call "Quickbook-Licenses." The goal of the app was to help self-employed individuals and small companies. My responsibilities: user research, ideation, wireframes, flows, and site architecture.

Problem

Our challenge was how to inform small businesses or individuals on how to be compliant with the law. Normally, when small companies or individuals discover they were not compliant, it was too late, and the company or individual had to pay high fees.

Approach

We worked collaboratively in many design thinking sessions, including the stakeholders, product managers, and developers, and we gather information, define requirements, and perform user testing. 

Discovery

Daily we were close to our customer service group, listening to our consumers' significant pain points. Usually, we had weekly small sessions to resolve those problems.

Findings

We found out that our onboarding experience was confusing. Our audience had problems finishing the questionnaire to obtain the forms for their business.

It was also not clear when the forms need to be submitted, and our audience was having problems meeting deadlines.

Solutions

We design new onboarding flows to improve our experience. Make it shorted and easy to fill out the forms, and at the end of the experience, an email was sent two weeks after the user applied as a reminder to submit the form.

Deadlines

To solve the deadlines' problems, we decided to add a section with a calendar, and it will have all the dates of the submitted licenses.
